No, it’s not car related... See, I’ve been working at a movie theater for eight months now. Every day I’m scheduled to clean the theaters, I’ll find at least $2.00 in change, easily. That’s probably added up to over $100 by now, actually, and yesterday was my first time cleaning in over two months. But anyway, for the first* time ever, I found paper money. It was just a single dollar bill stuck between two seats, but it’s mine now!
Best part is, unlike my coworkers, I actually found it on its own. A lot of them will steal the cash from the wallets they find, but since there are no cameras in the theaters, they haven’t been caught yet... I just hope they all get caught one day with enough on them to actually get arrested for it. Serves them right.
*I did once help a guy find $2,000, though. No idea why you would ever bring that much with you to see American Sniper, but he did. And he let it fall behind his seat.

STORY TIME: I came in for my shift at the local Sunoco in high school, and my co-worker said “hey some guy dropped his wallet there’s like $1,000 in it. I gotta take a shit so just keep an eye on it.” He goes in the back. Not two minutes later some guy comes in and asks about the wallet. I ask for his home address and drivers license number and can see it’s him from the license photo. I had his wallet over, and he counts the money and is shocked all of it is there, so he pulls a $100 bill out and hands it to me with a “thanks”. He leaves, and my co-worker comes back up front and asks if anyone has come by. I tell him yes, the guy picked up his wallet, and gave me $100 for it. The look on his face was priceless. We popped open the till and split the $100 for two $50 bills and pocketed half each.

He didn’t, but then again I didn’t turn it in or anything. I hadn’t noticed it while cleaning, so I just went back in with the guy and used my flashlight under the seats. He was the first to notice and grab it, so I dunno. I wouldn’t have given myself a reward, either, since I didn’t really do anything.

I know many people who would not have split that reward.

Me and my friend once found $500 in a purse in a movie theatre. It was owned by someone who we assumed to be an identity thief, so we took the money. (They had about 10 ID and Social Security cards with different names, but the same woman in the picture) Then we went to the most expensive restaurant in town and blew it all.
